How it works
Work orders in PulsePlant aren't just records — they're the nerve center of daily operations. A technician can start a timer, issue parts, attach photos, and close out a job from a single screen. A supervisor can drag cards across a Kanban board to rebalance the team. A manager can see total cost, budget variance, and completion rate across the shop in real time.
Every work order has a clear lifecycle with enforced status transitions. Draft, Pending Approval, Approved, Assigned, In Progress, On Hold, Completed, Verified, Closed, Cancelled — each move is logged, auditable, and tied to the user who made it. Approval workflows route by cost threshold or work type. Auto-approval rules cut friction on routine jobs without losing the audit trail.
Work orders can be viewed as a table, a card grid, a Kanban board, or a calendar — whichever matches how you think. Skill-based assignment recommends the best-fit technician. Bulk reservations pull parts straight from a linked BOM. Labor tiers handle regular, overtime, and double-time automatically.
On completion, the system posts GL entries, updates equipment history, and notifies the right people. The ledger, the asset, the reliability report, and the budget all stay in sync without anyone manually copying data anywhere.
