Inventory & Stores

Parts where you need them, when you need them

Multi-store inventory with real-time stock levels, reservations, cycle counting, ABC classification, and auto-reorder. Built for plants that can't afford a stockout on critical parts — and can't afford dead stock sitting on shelves.

How it works

PulsePlant treats inventory the way your accounting team wishes you always did: every movement is a transaction, every item has a real average cost, every reservation is tied to a work order, and every count variance gets reviewed before it posts.

Multiple stores, bin locations, and units of measure are handled out of the box. Parts can be stock items, non-stock, direct-purchase, or consignment — each with its own rules. Auto-reorder triggers purchase requisitions when available stock drops below the reorder point, pointed at the preferred supplier with the last-known price.

ABC classification ranks every item by annual usage value, driving how often it gets cycle-counted and how closely it gets watched. Blind cycle counts prevent bias, variance review catches anomalies, and approved adjustments post cleanly to the ledger.

Repairable items — motors, gearboxes, control valves — are tracked by individual serial number through install-remove-repair-return cycles. Weighted average cost updates monthly with a full preview and reversibility. An hourly integrity monitor catches reservation drift, duplicate auto-reqs, and stock inconsistencies before they break something downstream.

The result: your warehouse knows exactly what it has, your planners know exactly what's available, and your finance team can close the books without chasing unreconciled transactions.

Inside Inventory & Stores

Dedicated sub-modules that go deeper on specific workflows.

What you get

Multi-store architecture

Main warehouse, tool cribs, satellite stores — each with its own stock levels and transfer workflows.

Reserve and issue

Reserve parts ahead for planned work, direct-issue for emergencies. Every transaction is traceable.

Auto-reorder

Available stock drops to the reorder point → a requisition generates to the preferred supplier automatically.

Cycle count workflow

Create, assign, count, review, approve, post. Blind counts prevent bias; variances route for approval.

ABC classification

Pareto-based ranking by annual value drives count frequency, safety stock, and supplier strategy.

Barcode and QR labels

Print shelf, bin, and item labels. Scan with any phone or mobile scanner to pull up the record.

Bulk direct issue

Issue dozens of items to a single work order or cost center in one transaction — built for turnarounds.

EOQ and safety stock

Economic order quantity and safety stock calculated from real consumption history, not gut feel.

Low-stock alerts

Email and in-app notifications when stock hits reorder point or goes critical. No more stockout surprises.
