How it works

Scheduling in PulsePlant puts every work order, PM task, and resource assignment into a single interface with four complementary views. The calendar shows day-to-day detail. The Gantt chart exposes durations, dependencies, and resource lanes. The Kanban board organizes by status for daily standups. The workload view shows technician capacity at a glance.

Drag any work order to a new date, a new technician, or a new status and the system validates the change in real time. Conflict detection catches double-bookings, capacity overloads, skill mismatches, and dependency violations before they break the schedule. Drag-and-drop rescheduling updates everyone affected immediately.

Skill-based assignment ranks technicians by trade match, availability, and current workload. The system recommends the best fit and highlights skill gaps when no fully qualified person is free. Auto-schedule can assign unscheduled work from backlog based on priority, skills, and capacity. Smart optimization rebalances existing assignments to improve utilization.

Every resource — internal labor, external contractors, equipment — has its own profile with trade, skills, cost rates (regular, overtime, double time), certifications, and availability calendar. Rate effective dates preserve accurate historical cost. Conflict detection prevents scheduling a technician into vacation or training time. Supplier resources connect contractor capacity directly to work order assignment.
